Jersey Devil- possibly an anagram for a name?

There are many variations of the Jersey Devil lore, most people think that a missing boy- a boy that developed a sort of Tarzan character and became started eating humans- started this whole story. There might be a Jersey Devil out there, I have very little doubt that creatures beyond our understanding do not exsist along side us. Being the conspiricy theorist that I am I played around with the letters of its title and found this:Jersey Devil Jeriv Leeds Now, if I remeber correctly there were two families said to have the Jersey Devil; Shrouds and Leeds.
