...If they stopped running whatever it was would kill them. The look in their eye's, as if all hope was washed away, there was no flicker, no evidence of a person behind those eyes, just fear. One of the men cut away from the group and began to slow down, his shirt was torn and covered in sweat, I could tell he giving up. He walked up to one of the thin pines and put his head against the body of the tree. When he lift his head and looked forward, blood began to drip from his mouth, with horror I watched as a vine-like object erupted from his stomach, i couldn't tell if he was pulling on it for pushing it, but the vine-like object wiggled and twisted, plunging itself back through him until he laid motionless. There was no end to the woods, just the same repetitive nature over and over again. One by one, every man stopped and screamed in agony, until the body they felt so trapped could handle no more. The last man did not look as if he would ever grow tired, the pace was set for eternity, and then he just stopped. He took a deep breath and turned around, i watched as the vine-things wrapped his body to the tree. I was lowered to the ground in front of him, looking into his eyes, even after death his eyes were focused on the thing that corrupted his view on life. When I turned to face it, I saw nothing. The only thing to be heard was the occasional rustling of the wind in the branches, the soft chatter of birds and a cricket somewhere in the distance. It took the sharp jab in my chest to bring me back to a heightened sense of awareness, but by then it was too late. The vine- like thing was wriggling itself through my chest, I tried to grab it and make it stop but the blood or the material it was made of was too slippery to grasp. It sounds like someone just lit a firework next to my ears, this non stop ringing sensation. I look up in the last moments of consciousness to see the same figure as in dream #1.
