This may seem like a strange idea...comment?

The Jinmenkin's appearance and personality seem to match the protagonist in the Inuyasha manga series. Do you think that Inuyasha's character was inspired partially
by the jinmenkin? Do you find this valuable?

I've taken some classes on Japanese history, and i haven't run across that myth before but it does not seem likely that is the case. Inuyasha literally translates to "Dog demon," which i guess is where you may have gotten your point. But sense his father in the series is a powerful Inugami, almost like a god himself, that makes Inuyasha only half-demon. He isn't even a full Yokai.
