The Demon Days
Jan 13 2012, 12:19 PM EST
The Ancient Egyptians believed that The Demon Days where the last 5 days of the year, when 5 Gods/Godesses where born.Ra, the sun God, heard a prophecy about a son of Geb, the earth God, and Nut, the sky Godess, that he would overthrow him and take his place as king. Desperately, Nut confrunted Khonsu, the moon God, and won 5 days of moonlight from him. Back then, there was only 360 days in a year. Nut placed those 5 days at the end of the year (making our normal year of 365 days) and had each of her children on 1 of those 5 days. When Ra learned what she had done, he was urious and banished Geb to the earth and Nut to the sky, never to see eachother again. The Egyptians called them The Demon Days as they did not belong and made the God/Godess born on that day stronger, as with all Gods/Godesses. Hope this helped! ^^ ~Lara x 5 out of 5 found this valuable. Do you? |

No problem :)Just noticed a typo! -facepalm- *Furious XP Also forgot to mention; Ra had forbid her to give birth, that's why she went to Khonsu. I was seriously not having a very good day then XD x 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |
