"pretty sure some of this info doesnt have to do with greek.Im not a greek wizard but i cant remember the last time "spinx" had to do with greek mythology."Heard of Oedipus the King? He became king by answering the Riddle of the Sphinx at the gate of Thebes, therefore freeing the people of Thebes and earning him "King" status. Of course, the ironic thing is that he had killed their previous King, which was why they were Kingless. It was also pretty messed up because the previous King of Thebes was his father, and the Queen of Thebes, who was still alive and well, was his mother. And do you know who he married and had kids with? Yep, the Queen of Thebes. All in all, the whole story's pretty messed up. But it does prove you to be a jerk who doesn't check his facts before being sarcastic and "holier-than-thou." Which you incidentally shouldn't do if you want to stay on this site. Consider that my warning. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

yes it does.. in oedipus rex the creature that causing the plague is a sphinx who gave a riddle that only oedipus was able to answer.
