The fair folk. Not of the Race of Adam. Elfin and elfish are Welsh variants of elven and elvish - the Welsh pronounce f as v. They are not truly immortal as they can be killed, though if they are extremely careful ...

Never knew those were Welsh variants.

And the mythical evidence given has led to one conclusion that their origins with Adam 'might' be the case. Though it could be any of the other theories - Thrown out of Heaven but not too evil for Hell, unsettled souls, etc...

When you're working with beings the don't exist outside of fairy tales it's kinda unavoidable. Do you find this valuable?

Elves originally came from the Vikings (though they might have been inspired from the Greek's nymphs). First there were said to only be one race, but later they got divided and the first ones got known as the lightelves. The opposites of the lightelves, were the blackelves. The blackelves were goblins, gnomes, creatures that lived under the ground in mounds and tussocks. The lightelves on the other hand, lived in Lysalvheim, or Lightelfhome. They were the perfect warriors, the were wise, and they were stronger than any human. Besides they had the ability to rise agian if they fell in battle. The god Frøy/Freyr (not to be mixed with his sister, Frøya/Freyja), ruled over this species.
Also humans could become elves after their death (this usually went for the kings and the greatest heroes).
Later the elves reached Great Brittain, where the black and the light got mixed up, to small creatures with wings, also known as the Hidden Ones. It was said that if a child got left behind, if the parents forgot him, the elves would come and make the child like themselvs. They would hide away in the forests, looking out for the parents, seeking revenge.
But naturally the popularculture createt some more childfriendly stories, about cute little elves (also called fairies), who help everyone in dire need.
