MarbleHornets simply use a faceless, suited man as their antagonist, and he goes by "The Operator." The resemblance is just enough to get people to put 2 and 2 together, but MarbleHornets is not the Slender Man. 2  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

He/she/it goes by the operator, but "The slenderman" could just be a nickname for the operator, or th operator could be a nickname for slenderman. Either way, mslenderman or operator, slenderman is definitely the thing in marblehornets.
Proof: the operator/slenderman both cause memory loss, cuaghing blood, and technology malfunctions, so it's safe to say the creature in marble hornets and the slenderman are the same thing.
