The Jersey Devil
Mar 13 2011, 7:23 PM EDT | Post edited: Mar 13 2011, 7:23 PM EDT
This sounds like a complete myth to me, an old wives tale. I mean seriously if someone had 13 kids the 13th one would not be the devil, and it would not turn into a flying horse. This is soo fake.

I have actually heard of a different story that is probably the most true.

Mother Leeds was walking when she saw a gypsy on the side of the road. The gypsy was asking for food but Mother Leeds didn't offer any. The gypsy had then put a curse on the unborn child and that is why it turned into a creature.

That's a plot-line I've not yet heard of the story. The only thing the tales seem to agree on is that there was a baby born and that the woman was either surnamed Leeds or Shrouds.

Let's hope the re-establishing of these events is never required of a court.

Everyone needs to chill, what I meant was that I believe there could be something out there such as the Jersey Devil, I have never seen it, but there could be something like it. I just believe the tale sounds fake. The one you posted as a comment with the gypsy sounds more realistic. The tale that you put as the actual thread sounded completely fake to me.

"This sounds like a complete myth to me, an old wives tale."
Oh, do excuse me. I missed your earlier comment.

Allthings. Please look at this site and think reeeal hard. There is a clue in the name. 'Mi...', 'Myt...', 'Mythical...'. It's called MythicalCreaturesGuide because we collect information about 'complete myths' and 'old wives tales'! Of course the story on the page sounds far-fetched, comes with the territory.

I mean... Were you here looking for case reports or something? 0_0

Sidenote: I agree with Robinstar, there was no need for people like Geek to yell at you (twice), you did nothing wrong. Just astound me with a complete and utter bafflement. I've never been so hopelessly perplexed since, well fifteen minutes ago actually. Website that I'd never been to before informed me that, as I was new, I would need to make a new password by putting in my existing one. What!!! But I... You admit that... Wouldn't have a... What!!! No one needs to yell at Allthings. She's allowed to share her own opinion. You all perplex me. Why would you ever start a petty arguement? ONLINE, I might add. Geeze. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

I expect these stories to have atleast some reality to them. I have delt with many mythical creatures, and their stories actually sound realistic.

Do I have to recount such legends as 'Little Rolling Pea'? There are many bizarre tales that completely lack a basis in reality. 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
