Sigbin brings luck to its owners. Lakan Dula descendants are said to be sigbinans. They keep their sigbins in their attics or empty rooms. Sigbins eat human flesh of the enemy of their masters. After eating, they can maintain their chubby body for the next ten years without eating. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

we live in a rural town here in the southern part of iloilo. in our neighborhood, the houses are built in rows and its quite populated. i am for most of the time a skeptic when in comes to "supernatural things". but i became curious about this 'sigbin' thing upon reading the stories posted here on the net and the story of my neighbor just awhile ago. this happened a years ago, during the holy week. this neighbor of ours (who was just three houses away from us) was very much pregnant of her 4th child, when in the middle of the night, she was awakened by the loud crunching outside of their house. it was as if something was eating enthusiastically her charcoals which were placed in a sack in front of the house. it was a full moon so she can see quite clearly outside. she thought it was her husband transferring the charcoals in their tin pail (her husband works in a nearby aquaculture research center whose shift is usually at night). she called out his name for several times but their was no response but the steady charcoal munching sound that she decided to take a peek at their window. she thought she has seen somewhat like a goat and a dog with a bottom that is uncharacteristically raised. she cant see the head of the creature because it was inside the sack of charcoal. she became afraid but decided to go back in bed for their was no one in the house but she and her children. it was a relative (who is a traditional hilot) who told her it was a sigbin. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. dont take this the wrong way, but that is awesome. I know some people are superstitious here in the philippines but I was wondering if you had any encounters or similar tales related to the creature. I posted what I think on another comment but would like your feedback. Also, the stories of familiars runs back to spain during the inquisition. I think it may be likely and uncatalogued animal. Charcoal for a diet though, that I cannot explain :) 0  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Sigbin is a political animal because in one article, it even attacked the Japanese soldiers? the plot about this sigbin legend is becoming exciting..... 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
