i have been doing a lot of research about the formation of the Sirens and this is what i got:Sirens are composed of women and of birds, in various ways. In early Greek art sirens were represented as birds with large women's heads, bird feathers and scaly feet. Later, they were represented as female figures with the legs of birds, with or without wings playing a variety of musical instruments, especially harps. The tenth century Byzantine encyclopaedia Suda says that from their chests up Sirens had the form of sparrows, below they were women, or, alternatively, that they were little birds with women's faces. In other myths they take the formation of upper body of a women and the lower body as fish. Birds were mainly chosen because of their beautiful voices. there is not a proper myth saying that any of those is right but none saying that any of them are wrong. 3 out of 3 found this valuable.
