Many Humans aren't cute, why should Aliens be then? We are Aliens to the Aliens...so to speak.

Well, I think that even if a particulars planet's primary inhabitants were ugly, they are bound to have something thats cute. Though, on there planet their standards for what's "cute" are likely to be entirely different. To them chinchillas could be grotesque.
