If you are looking for the most common demons/fallen angels you should read a book called The Watkins Dictionary of Angels by Julia Cresswell. It does not contain every demon, mostly angels, but it does have a fair few fallen angels, what they do etc, including Satan. There was another book, which i can't seem to find right now, but it details just the denizens of Hell.

There is also this website here

http://www.deliriumsrealm.com/delirium/demonlistA-E.asp

It has a brief description of each demon, if you click on each of their names.

I hope it helps some what.

A good book that includes some lesser heard 'folk-demons' is - 'A Field Guide to Demons, Fairies, Fallen Angels and Other Subversive Spirits' by Carol K. Mack and Dinah Mack. Do you find this valuable?
