i was bored.. i just re-watch pirate of the Caribbean dead man chest and they said something about the kraken... but when i think about kraken i think about clash of the titan one.. i was bored so i look in dept do this... so is the one in clash of the titan completely made up? i always thought kraken was a very scary looking monster.. dont get me wrong octopus is still scary but it only over size.. its not really scary in a unique way.. not like hydra or other weird deform monster. 14  out of 21 found this valuable. I'm afraid the giant squid/octopus is a more traditional representation of the kraken. It was probably easier for the Clash of the Titans movie crew to go with what they had. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Octopi are a lot more beast than most people think. Those things seriously mess up every other sea creature. Can you think of any other creature in the sea that eats sharks? Now imagine the same shark-eater, but a hundred times larger. Plus, you're on HIS turf. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Not only are they powerful, they are also more intelligent than humans. Supposedly hey learn faster, among other things, however they don't live that long, probably the only reason why they don't exceed human intelligence and wipe us from existence. I love them, they look like Cthulhu hehehe. However, we still haven't searched the deepest depths of the oceans of Earth, so who knows what Ancient creatures lurk in the oceans deepest trenches, where not even light can penetrate. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. That sentence there, Sir. It betrays you as a Lovecraftian. :P

Lovecraftian monsters are very fun, they are not the normal creatures of the night, rather strange and very ancient beings which came from various dimensions and about as old as the universe itself. It put humanity on a very insignificant scale, where we mean nothing to these great, ancient beings.

Sadly yes, and unfortunately it's creator is no longer around to expand the mythos, and no one else deems themselves worthy to really use a similar idea and take it into the future.

I've been looking for a reason to start a secret society. It purpose could be to find the individual that will adequately build on Lovecraft's work.

We can all wear tall hats, sit round a large table, and sing the masons song they had on the Simpsons.

Who holds back the electric car;
Who makes Steven Gutenburg a star;
We do! We do!

Hehehe, sounds like a good idea. We could end up being a world wide secret organisation, pulling the strings of the worlds leaders in our goal to find a worthy scion to Lovecraft.

It's perfect. Where do we sign up? Is there a government bureau that will offer us registration for the organisation?

I mean, I don't want to pick a name that's already being used and get sued. I doubt that the argument, "But no one apart from the seven in that society even knew the name existed!" will make sense to the jury.

Perhaps not. But aren't the most secret secret organisations the ones that we know all about, yet suspect nothing?

Like in Stargate, where to cover stuff about the stargate they made a tv parody show of it and attributed everything that was asked about from then on to the show.

I used to like Stargate years ago. Well some old film, called Stargate.

Your statement rings true, we need to broadcast our organisation so that everyone thinks it is fake if people say we are doing "evil" things Mwhahahaha.

People do seem to search for things which they cannot see, and when something comes along which is obvious they don't notice it until it is too late. Do you find this valuable?
