It's not a fairy tale but you can find them in the Harry Potter Movies

Centaurs originated in Ancient Greece.There are myths about them, not fairy tales (for the most part).One of the most prominent stories about centaurs is known as the Centauromachy. This is a myth in which there is a wedding. The Lapiths (a "tribe" of Ancient Greeks) and centaurs were all in attendance, and the centaurs got a bit drunk, as is typical at weddings. As they are half man, half beast, they are usually a rather civilized bunch, but while intoxicated, they gave into their animalistic desires and began stealing the women of the Lapiths, including the bride. There was a battle between the Lapiths and centaurs which was won by the Lapiths, a metaphor for the civil nature of the Greeks emerging victorious over their barbarian neighbours, namely the Persians.
