Hey, I'm doing some research on the mothman sightings world wide to try and find some kind of commonality to the sightings. (other than the disasters) my theory is that there is something else at play here, there has got to be. Almost every eye witness account of the first person in any given area to see it (that I've come across) seem to have a similar story: they see it the first time remarkably close up, then a few more times from a distance, and then finally right outside they're residence. Ms.Scarberry claims that the thing could have hurt her numerous times if had wanted to, but didn't, She among others even think it was trying to communicate with them, which in it's self is astonishing and unheard of with any cryptic sighting ever recorded. My hope is to uncover enough info so that I can track it, and hopefully find the commonality of the first sightings in an area so that I can predict the next area it will visit to make an attempt at communication. What has been stopping these witnesses from doing so is fear of the unknown, which is understandable, but I think if it wanted to hurt us it would have done so. and as far as the disaster sightings...I think it's trying to stop them. My theory is: it's an alien being, and it has a sort of intuition about these things. The "fact" backing my theory is an obscure photo sent to me by the son of a NASA astronomical and paranormal researcher, (which he copied from his fathers laptop apparently) of a figure underneath one of the planes that hit the trade center. the photo is very distant but the figure is positioned in a way that it seems as though he is holding the plane up, or pushing against it. Obviously the photo may be a fake, but there are about 18 other unrelated photos floating around on the internet of a flying figure around the towers in the aftermath of 9/11. Take from my comments what you will, but I am very serious about all of this.

Alas, many people are doing research on the mothman. I'm sure if you search hard enough you will find people who have already, or are in the process of collecting, the data you are looking for. To get them to share that data and whether it is reliable are other matters. I for one, would think it amusing if GIS Mothman downloads started cropping up.And your theories, after doing some research, appear to have mostly been suggested already. The part about it communicating however appears to be new, though I doubt this is the case. Do you find this valuable? |

"I agree with your comments that existence is established and contact is needed. However there are difficulties with this. A suggestion is work with real contactees rather than easy chair opinions. Then discuss common factors. Probably a small group could work with this.
