Difference between Skinwalker and Shapeshifter

Skinwalker implies that they wear different skins, skins of things they killed, taken over, etc.
Shapeshifter implies that it can physically change shapes, not needing to do anything to be able to change into that certain animal.

I'm afraid shapeshifter is a far broader term. Skinwalkers are usually said capable of shapeshifting as well as taking over the skin of another. Do you find this valuable?

skin walker is where dobble ganger effect comes from, they can kill the person then "take there skin" i.e. look like them they then do as they please, Do you find this valuable?
