Actually I think the wings would be fine, IF the dragon was light and could some how use its tail to flick itself foreward in flight.

it depends. Dragons, depending on the wing structure and muscle density and location could very well fly even if they weighed several tons.

not really hard to explain as it has bug wings it can flap the wings just like a fly, or a beetle.

it wouldn't actually have butterfly or mothlike wings maybe thats just what people thought they looked like if they really existed or maybe they werent winged dragons at all maybe they were something else more mechanical

agreeing with freedragon10022, but also look at some bugs here for example bees the proportion to the bug is so off im amazed it can even walk.
