in Harry potter the Chamber of Secrets the basilisk was a giant snake thing not a chicken with a snake tail 1  out of 11 found this valuable. Do you?

My general accepted view is that the terms, basilisk and cockatrice, are used to describe these two separate ideas of how it looks. The cockatrice being the more chickeny one. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
