ya twilight may be right trinity Blood probably got it from the mythological creature that is a krusnik because it seemed like a good subject for a manga so they evaluate the krusniks with this andspread the word which is probably from where the Author of this probably got the subject(long post XD)

Crusniks are kinda old myth you know. I don't know much about trinity blood, but I'll check it out.
