  • Reply to MerPeople??PLZ REPLY!!!! Merfolk in my opinion don't exist. There are many myths, however, about merfolk. I find these stories fascinating though. One of the first literary descriptions is ancient greece. Sightings have been recorded back to 586 A.D. and they are from all around the world. I think these sightings came from sailors who saw something that resembled a mermaid from far away. Many animals could be mistaken as this mythical creature. I have seen documentaries about mermaids, but it all doesn't add up. They say it is odd that the same myths come from all around the world, but it really isn't. Humans, no matter where they are from, have a similar thought process. We created the mermaids to explain things we didn't understand like storms and people drowning. Either way someone living who knows a mermaid (if they are real) would be hard to find because mermaids are known for their dark ways.

  • -_- I find this highly offencive. Not all werefolk are agressive, or target humans. Werebears are the keeper of peace and protect the forest and the only thing things they would raise a paw to are hunters, werewolfs, and wererats. I am Third Generation Inertent Drakin, which means i have the blood of werefolk who tuned dragon on the new moon. We dont believe in taking the ife of anything other than food. My mate of choice is a Werewolf and he doesnt kill out side of blood rage, which he cannot control. So ask around the were comminity before you make assumtions about us. And we are not as few as you think. We are manny, only the very few "shadows" which is our term for those who have gone bad, actualy intentionaly harm anything.

  • Why is it?? That no one is willing to explain why merfolk aren't willing to share their secrets with humans? Can someone on this board tell me why merfolk and people can't coexist together? I would be willing to tell everyone how the human political system works, but they have to tell me how the merfolk political system works in return.

  • Thank you thank the gods! someone who can tell the truth about merpeople/merfolk! they are not what they seem people! they are not always skinny, perfect hair, clean, KIND! they are only aggresive when they feel threatened! we take away and kill their fish, destroy their homes with the oil spills, and why? just think, if our homes were getting destroyed like that, we would also attack. but they are smart, keep that in mind... thank you!

  • Are Merpeople really that dangerous? I was watching a monsterquest clip once and it said that Merpeople suck humans into the whirlwinds and vortexes. Is this true? And is it true that Merpeople make weapons of shark teeth and fish bones and attack humans that come near them?

  • Abilities of a Mermaid I can't remember where I heard it, possibly the original version of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Anderson, but apparently if you can get your hands on a scale from a mermaid's tail, it can heal a wound. They can also spit water (like you see on fountain statues). According to the film Mermaids ( NOT the one with Cher - that has nothing to do with mermaids. I'm talking about the film of three mermaids coming to land to avenge their father's death) Different mermaids have different abilities, no doubt the most famous one being the ability to seduce men! According to the film, each mermaid if given an enchanted oceanic item at birth. One had a mirror that could see what she most desired (which basically works exactly like Captain Jack Sparrow's compass). Another had a shell that was (I'm guessing this bit) like a phone, as it was called a 'listening ear'.
