  • Shapeshifters to skin walker. The only story I have found on the modern star trek changling or shapeshifter is the skinwalker. Out of Native American folklore, the skinwalker is a person with the ability to change into anything(mostly animals) they wanted. I have recently heard there is a canadian native tribe that are shapeshifters. I have not been able to confirm this though.

  • Difference between Skinwalker and Shapeshifter Skinwalker implies that they wear different skins, skins of things they killed, taken over, etc.
Shapeshifter implies that it can physically change shapes, not needing to do anything to be able to change into that certain animal.

  • any TRUE physical shapeshifters out there?
"I've been dreaming for more than a decade now about turning into that mythical werewolf (bipedal sometimes, sometimes fully wolf) and am searching for a way to get that dreampower to the physical realm. NO FUN. So, if there's a true vukodlak, werewolf or loup garou, gimme a sign. It's rather lonely out there in the world..."
There are no lycans or true werewolves or true shapeshifters out there. However one can slightly change their appearance using self-hypnosis.You should also try lucid dreaming(when you are aware that you are dreaming, the dream is very vivid, and you can control every aspect of the dream)

  • Guide To Shapeshifting There is 2 types of shifting m and p. M shifting is a mental shift when you have the mindset of the animal you are going to shift into aka mind shifting. P shifting can be done after you learned to m shift pshifting is also called physical shifting it normally takes 4 weeks to a month to completely shift into the animal form. NOTE: This is only scratching the basic information on shape shifting for more information type into google "blazes guide to shifting" it goes into more depth then I could explain and will help you. Logic chair and xwolf hunter if you have something to say about this it's most likely negative so don't post ***** because nobody cares what you think due to all your comments being ignorant and thick headed Good luck shifting!

  • off topic jacob black and the "werewolves" from twilight are really just shapeshifters-it says so in breaking dawn. Most people don't know or care because they haven't read the books. Its obvious, really, werewolves only change during full moons, the guys in twilight change when they feel like it. No offence meant but i'm not wrong, no matter what anyone says. It was in the book so its what Stephanie meyer wanted people to know!

  • correction. Bastet is the singular and plural form. Bastet are not in D&D they are in Werewolf: the Apocalypse. They shapeshift for the first time at puberty, not because of rage. Yava refers to tribal secrets and lore. You, Karenchloe, are an idiot and should stay clear of posting information about things you fail to grasp.

  • Wendigo I cannot say where the information from this page came from but I understand that there is much diverse literature on the wendigo.

There are many conflicting myths associated with it. This could be due to mixing it up with the following creatures:
    Skinwalkers
The spirit of lonely places (Also called Wendigo)
Misabes (Shapeshifters who's only purpose is to fight a wendigo)

If you want to research this, then googling 'wendigo' or any of the above names should get you the information. Failing that, there are some books that cover parts of the wendigo legend very well.

  • ghouls well, not shapeshifters in the "look like random people" type, though they have been known to turn into animals to lure victims into the desert to eat them. Generally they hang out in graveyards and devour the flesh of the dead.

According to myth they are either an undead demon or a twisted Djinn.

  • Shape shifter
"They are related to werewolves and baskets."
My picnic basket slammed shut its lid on my arm the other day. Am I going to change at night now?

Otherwise a shapeshifter is a word used to describe any creature who can change between individual forms and back. It does not indicate a type of creature itself. Shapeshifters can include therianthorpes, demons, witches, skinwalkers, fairies and more.
