What exactly r sirens?
Sirens are mythical creatures, of course, who pray on people of the opposite sex. In the old stories, sirens were generally women who lived on rocky islands and "sang" to sailors who sailed by. The sailors, who could not resist the siren's song, ran themselves to their deaths on the rocks that surrounded the shore, to caught up in the compulsion that the sirens used. No one can resist the call of a siren. It is the most potent form of mind control. Nowadays, sirens stick to the mainland, the invention of airplanes limiting the number of sailors they have to prey upon. It is my understanding, though, that, much like selkies, sirens don't stray to far from the coast. I think that even today, most sirens are female, though males are more common than in the old days.

vampire
In ancient Vampire lore, the living dead do not have all of these strange modern powers, the most common power the walking dead had was shape shifting. A few other myths said the living dead were stronger than the average man, however these were few in number. What is strange is that some of the first ideas of the walking dead were not of evil corpses trying to consume the living, rather of beloved ancestors returning from their grave to spend one last time with their families, or to lend aid to the living in some form, most of the evil walking dead in Europe seemed to have appeared when Christianity arrived, strange how those two things appeared at the same time isn't it?
Before the idea of gods and goddesses, the living would worship or pay homage to the dead, members of their clan who had gone before them, asking them for aid, guidance or other various things, in the same manner people ask for the aid of a god or goddess. Even when the idea of a Vampire arose, they did not need to feed upon blood, some of the first vampiric creatures drained life straight from their victim, which is a lot more dangerous.

Im writing a book!
Depends on a great number of factors starting with which culture you are getting your mythology from. Typically I think it's best to do you're research before hand so you're modelling your characters after something rather than trying to find something that resembles a character you've already written. Most writers research for months and even years before they actual sit down and write they're novel.
I also feel compelled to ask: how old are you?

On the topic of the "Dwarf"
I personally believe that Dwarfs, or Dwarves, whichever you prefer, in the mythical or legendary sense (as opposed to those who are affected by dwarfism) may have been real and may still be in existence, but if so, they are only in a very small number of isolated locations with a very small total population. I also believe that, if they are still in existence, that they may have changed, evolutionarily, to such an extent due to their various isolated habitats that they would possibly no longer be able to reproduce as a whole. I think it is quite plausible that dwarfs are/were hominids of some kind, or were possibly the result of a slightly different branch of evolution than our own. Hell, Homo heidelbergensis was real, and only went extinct quite recently, and there are even those who believe that the heidelbergensis is not, in fact, extinct at all. Anyways, I believe that dwarfs may very well have been existent at one point in time, but are most likely no longer alive. In regards to the proposed metallurgy skills that the dwarves seemed to have possessed as a whole, I do not know about the validity or probability of such claims, but I see no reason why it is not probable that they simply could have become more technologically advanced than our ancestors at one point in time or another.
