Japan
These Are Real. Im Japanese and I Live in a Small Town. It dosnt have a Name. It in the Middle of a Forest. And this isnt Fake. I Promise you. I Was Out looking for Berrys so i could make my BlackBerry Pumkin Bread. It was, 2003. I Was Not Young; Nor Old. Theres a Small Cave. Its not Deep; Light shines in it. Thats where i made my Clubhouse. I Was In there and I Laid my basket down and Counted them. I Heard Footsteps. I thought it was An Elephant. Since we Do have Elephants in the Next Village over. It Sounded Close. So i thought "Did an Elephant Escape?" As i stood up and Walked out. I Looked Around; And Coming Out from behind the Cave; Was a Oni [鬼] It Wasnt Huge; Nor Small. It Saw Me, So I Ran Back into the Cave and Went to the Very back. It walked pass the Cave`s Entrence, But didnt come in. As i walked out; The Oni Wasnt there. So i Quickly Picked up the Basket and Ran back to my House. I Havnt told anyone, Until now.

Hibagon
The Hibahon is basically the Japanese equivalent of the Bigfoot or yeti. It is normally black or brown and lives in the mountainous forested regions of Japan. However, a certain tribe is rumored to have moved to Africa. They are intelligent and gentle.

Possible info from the location of the freaking picture..
Japanese legends featuring snake women who marry human men, take them under water to live with them, and in return grant immortality. She is also based off a ryukyu odd-tooth snake, known in Japan as an Akamata. Picture and info from Katie Hofgard.

Kirin under Japanese
There should also be a link to this under Japanese Mythology under "Kirin"
*other notes:
...when discovered in Africa, Giraffe, with there horn-like ossicones and scale-like spots, so much resembled these beasts of legend that the Japanese and Korean still refer to Giraffe as "Kirin"
...an internationally-distributed beer from Japan bears the name and a dipiction of the mythical Kirin
...sometimes refered to as a "dragon-horse" or a "Chinese-unicorn"

the idea that its a science experiment may not be wrong
Scientists in japan have admitted to creating a creature that is part hippo part rodent of some sort. that was honestly what i thought of when i saw the pic. maybe in the quake and flood a couple specimens found their way elsewhere. still could be a hoax though.

information
Not all myths come complete with their own accompaniment of 'epics'. I'm afraid you'll just have to accept that some beliefs have been lost to time. Short of going to Japan and asking around, there's little more information we ccan get on this creature.

Japanese monsters
Hi there,
I'm half-japanese and so I thought I could help you about this subject. What you are referring to as japanese monsters are called "Yôkai" (here's the wikipedia article,if you want details) and they're kind of folkloric monsters from japan. There's alot of them and you'll probably find a list of them somewhere. If you want details about one of them, just mail me: chraitikojima.kenji@gmail.com

what about....
kitsune was known as the leader of the yokai he is usually depicted as a fox but others say he is a man of about 20 years of age. He leads kind yokai but is also know to play tricks on cruel hearted people and leave them for the oni. it was also said that kitsune didn't like when people from other countries came to japan. so supposidly he would trick the outsiders away and if that didn't work he would let them stay or kill them if evil was in their heart.

BUSTED: Sorry, crazy wishful thinkers, it's time for a hit of reality.
Please. Apply common sense before you say it isn't a whale. I'm a marine zoologist- this is quite clearly a toothed whale. Google 'Dolphin Skull' if you don't believe me; compare the dentation, the structure of the maxilla ('upper jaw') and the conical teeth, adapted for catching fish. Based off the size, it could be a Beluga, or whatever species of toothed whale is found near Russia and Japan. If you're too lazy to find an image...

Its true existance.
Well how I originally knew the ghoul, as a simple graverobber fiend of the night, that's what I thought a European ghouls was. Like the Arabian, but without any mentions of demons and it coming back to life if you hit it twice.
The kasha in Japan is basically a ghoul who lives in a society that cremates its dead. The result being the ghouls will greedily snatch the dead before they are laid to rest; coffin and all.
For some reason half the sources I just found online are saying the kasha is a cat creature. I've never heard of that before.
