Slender man is like the scariest thing ever i played the game and i had nightmares for like a week and i couldnt sleep or even drive by woods in a car i was sooo scared

Because people get paranoid. And like most people know, the mind is a very powerful thing.

Much like the vampire was a scape-goat in the early 1600-1800's, when people couldn't explain why people were dying for no reason (They were more than likely dying because illnesses)... So is the "Slender Man", he's just a piece of someone's imagination to help them sleep better at night.

Think about it for a moment.. Don't you think that people would much rather believe something mysterious and unexplainable happened to their children, rather than think that another human being could do something as terrible as to take someone else's child? Because if they do believe that someone else could do that to another person, reality sinks in. And everything becomes brutally real.

It's either that, or they've read one too many Slenderman articles and stories.
