The Grim is a dangerous creature very similar to the “Dementors” Of Harry Potter (2010). The Grim is a specter that wanders area’s of desolation and Incredibly dark energy. I have personally survived several Grim attacks. The Grim attacks by first latching on to someone, and then draining them of their soul energy (life force). This leaves a person feeling incredibly drained and tired. A person who has been attacked and survived will usually be petrified, and be very scared, lifeless and sad. They may or may not recover fully from this. Recovery depends on how much energy was taken. If you encounter a Grim, you should: A. Run as fast as you can, and B. use this simple spell of protection:
Lumen defendit me, non contingere potest tenebras me, ego sum defendatur, autemesto absentis!
The spell is in Latin. Once this is said, imagine the purest white light kindling in your core and then radiating outward until you are surrounded by a white fire from which no darkness can touch you. Lastly, run like your life depends on it, because it does. A Grim will kill you. Only very well trained Goetic Practitioners and Shadowhunters can fight these things and win. Goodluck.
