Green Man, TheThis is a featured page

A spirit malign spirit of the English countryside that either appears as a naked man with green flesh or a form comprised of timbre with tree trunks for legs and body and leafy branches for arms.

He is said to 'fall upon' woodcutters and game-keepers as long as there is no chance he will be seen. The sounds you hear in the woods like a branch breaking should be attributed to him.

He is believed to be related to The Apple Tree Man.
