Dionysus - Mythical Creatures and Beasts

DIONYSUS (dye-oh-NYE-sus; Roman name Bacchus) was the god of wine. Dionysus was the son of Zeus and the mortal heroine Semele.
Dionysus rescued Ariadne after she had been abandoned by Theseus. Dionysus also saved his mother from the Underworld, after Zeus showed her his true nature as storm god and consumed her in lightning. It was Dionysus who granted Midas the power to turn whatever he touched into gold, then was kind enough to take the power back when it proved inconvenient.

Dionysus's symbols:

Grape vine Dionysus - Mythical Creatures and Beasts

Ivy Dionysus - Mythical Creatures and Beasts

Thyrsos Dionysus - Mythical Creatures and Beasts

He also had followers, woman mostly who would do anything he wanted them to do. There was a time as which he went to search from his mother and he was captured by pirates, after that he went into a greek city(that i forgot) and he wanted the people to worship him.. claiming that he was a new God. when the King of the City mocked him, Dionysus had tortured the king, by intoxicating his wife and mother. They, along with others went out to hunt and killed the king, thinking it was a cow(or something). So Dionysus is along side Demeter in being the two Great Gods, because he is good and both bad. He brought grape vines and gave men drink, but under the heavy influence the men would do ridiculous things that they would regret later. so he was both feared and favored.
