Destroyer
The Temple- In the bottom of the Abyss sits a very old Temple. We call it the Temple of the Destroyer. The temple is where the Destroyer slumbers. Abyss-The Abyss is a dark Smokey place. It’s a large pit that descends for miles upon miles. At the bottom is a large dark forgotten temple. Many have said that the Abyss is located in the Dead Sea. In the bottom you will find the Dead Sea Scrolls which will let you enter the Abyss. There is said to be another entrance in South America. The Destroyer- the Destroyer has many names such as, Abaddon, Appolyon, and the Kraken. It sleeps in the Temple in the bottom of the Abyss. It only wakes to destroy intruders that try to get into Gaia. The Destroy sometimes changes form so it is hard to describe how it looks but one this is for sure every time it changes for it gets stronger. The reason why it changes form is because sometimes every thousands of years there is an Angel, Demon, or Fallen Angel that kills the Destroyer. Tthey get to enter Gaia but in 24 hours they have to take the place of the Destroyer. So if you put one and one together each time the destroyer dies the STRONGER one will become the destroyer. The Destroyer can sometimes get out of the Abyss when he is summoned by God or the Devil and sometimes both. To do their bidding here on Earth. If the Destroyer is not destroyed but defeated and not killed he will grant you one of his souls. On enhanced souls body black like tattoos will cover its body in random designs. If the enhanced soul reaches Berserker mode the tattoos will move and cover its body. His/her eyes will go black and it will have unleashed massive amounts of energy and abilities. Locust- The demon locusts are a massive army of demons who will one day be release from the Abyss and will consume all of the things on earth. They will harm but not kill the humans.

I must say the Destroyer and Cthulhu bear striking similarity. Both immensely powerful ancient beings slumbering in the deep abyss

While i do believe our mighty priest Cthulhu, may his name be blessed, indeed does slumber in a deep dark place, he is described to sleep beneath the ocean in R'lyeh, while this "Abyss" looks like your average RPG hell themed level.

its funny that you bring up the destroyer im reading a well a line of romance novels that deal with the pantheons all sorts and the main character archeon is apollimi or appolyon son and that if he would go to his mother he would bring the world to an end and the author treated them as atlantean pantheon despite the fact that its a line of romance novels the myth portion is quite good

Probably because they didn't have a camera on them when they saw it. Its not loky the lochness monster or bigfoot, who are always chased by cameras, most creatures aren't chased by people with cameras.
