CalygreyhoundThis is a featured page

A creature spawning from Medieval Heraldry. The Calygreyhound is most commonly shown with the head of a wildcat, body of a deer, forelegs of an eagle and hind legs of an ox. However other body parts substituted were body of an antelope, hind legs of a lion, antlers or horns and a tail of a lion or poodle.

Used as the coat of arms for the de Vere family. It is considered somewhat less believable a creature than other heraldic beasts. It is meant to represent swiftness.

If the poodle tail was not docked (cut off or shorted for looks) they look mythical and I know poodles are real. It's just hard to find one not dock state side. A corded poodle with a undock tail looks quite impressive. You you won't find many if any now thou too much up keep to keep them corded that is.
