The Bandersnatch is a fictional creature in the poem The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carrol. The appearance is never described so many versions of it are seen. The above image is from the 2010 movie Alice in Wonderland directed by Tim Burton. The name is also used for another creature from Resident Evil. One line in the poem describes this and the Jubjub Bird and that line is:
"...Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun,
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
These two monsters are used as creatures of war in the 2010 movie and Alice even rides the Bandersnatch like a horse.Though barely one line of the poem describes it, the Bandersnatch is a relatively integral to the movie's plot. Either way, this creature has an interesting origin for the outcome that the beast had on the story.

From what I have come to understand, similar to the forest spirits of asia, the Bandersnatch was supposedly the Spirit of large forests in the western cultures.Anyone entering with the intent to harm the forest were essentially cursed to be hunted by the bandersnatch,a being that sleeps normally, but when awake is deadly as the A Bomb. More than likely this was actually storys of the men who built homes at the time, and later found devestation under the effects of a few Tornados or Hurricanes.

I personally expericed the wrath of a Bandersnatch. It has lefted me and my healing power crippld for many weeks. Now i am fully healed, and have forced him to sincerlly apologize to me. so, anyone who tells me that they are not real will have a serious problem.

The poem is just "Jabberwocky", not THE Jabberwocky.
Other than that, one artist who worked closely with Carroll (he drew the art for the books) had an unprinted design for the bandersnatch - it was supposed to be spotty, with long legs and neck, and a dog-like head. It was described as straddling the trees of the forest as it walked, but was left out of the other artwork he made for the poem.
